About Chell
Michele Mirisola is a painter and sculptor and the artist behind the homeware company Chell Fish. Michele reimagines traditional craft invoking Baroque and Rococo styles with the use of contemporary materials like epoxy clay and resin. She creates the objects you’d see in a painting of a grand interior but they’re tangible, imperfectly handmade and something useful for everyday. She often builds off of antique homeware bringing new life to a piece. After completing an artist residency in Lesa, Italy, she has continued to visit the area, drawing inspiration from the frescos, statues, and architectural design: cherubs, moon faces, camellia bushes, and wrought iron fences.
Michele was born and raised in New York City and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Cut, Whitewall Magazine, among others. She has exhibited with Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects, Studio Solenne, and Friends Artspace. In 2025, Studio Solenne presented two art fair booths with her work at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) and Collectible Design Fair, both in New York City. Michele graduated from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA in 2012 where she studied oil painting & fiction writing.
